Dry Fertilizer Blending Programs

The Yargus Manufacturing panel shop and software department has been in service for over five years. It is currently made up of three PLC programmers, one full-time panel builder, and one PC programmer specializing in C# programming language.

Custom Designed. Customer Focused.

The purpose of adding this division was to enhance customer support, as well as to keep on the cutting edge of technology in the fertilizer industry. There have already been two major coding revisions, as the needs and desires of our customers drive our thought processes. The Yargus PLC panels were designed with flexibility and user defined setup in mind. This way the customer does not have to waste valuable time reaching out to tech support when the power to make necessary modifications is in their hands.

Our in-house staff currently maintains two different iterations of PLC code, created custom code for our Rice Lake scale indicators, and integrates many different agronomy software packages to work with our system.

Innovation in action.

The software department is always making advances with new and improved software as new ideas and opportunities arise. This includes the testing of new devices, sensors, or anything that can improve the functionality of our most advanced blender on the market. For example, our iPad integration allows a single operator to run an entire blending plant from a wireless network.

Kahler Automation software allows control room operators to prepare direct load/blends prior to a truck arriving on site. The pre-staging system may be configured to prompt the driver for their order number, truck information including an ID number and compartment details, and the specific blend to be loaded into each.

Impregnation Auger

The impregnation auger is an innovative combination of a metering valve auger, a mixing ribbon auger and an impregnation unit that the Yargus R&D Department has recently developed. This particular valve set up is useful when used in combination with an under-bin conveyor belt where even coating of liquid materials on dry fertilizers prior to layering on the conveyor can be achieved. High and low liquid treatment rate options are available to meet your system size and blend ratio requirements. Best of all, the impregnation auger can be retrofit onto existing systems to upgrade your system's flexibility and long-term profitability!

Dual System Capacity

Yargus Manufacturing produces a variety of conveyance solutions to meet your specific site requirements and blending needs. Our conveyor belts, screw conveyors, bucket elevators and chain paddles offer increased flexibility of use with our unique dual system capacity. These conveying pieces can all operate at a variety of capacities within a blending system. We have developed automated controls to scale the blending system based on varying conveyance and material capacities. For example, to reduce electrical capacity requirements on a site, we can have two under-bin conveyor belts that can run at 200 tons per hour feeding a bucket elevator that can run at 300 tons per hour. In this way, we can scale each under-bin conveyor within the blend to meet an overall blend capacity of 300 tons per hour so you achieve the maximum capacity possible from each piece of conveyance.

From Wilde Brothers Farms Ltd.:
Firstly, this application is a great tool for quickly calculating fertilizer blends and potential costs but it is NOT a replacement for good judgement or professional advice. The user of the app is responsible for double checking the results. Please ensure that all default values (prices, product densities, etc) are to your liking before calculating. Do you want to know how much a fertilizer blend will cost per ton? Per acre? Liquid or dry blends? This is the app for you. It was designed by farmers for farmers and others involved in the agricultural world. To get you started it includes some common fertilizers, but you can edit the products and add your own. Working the app couldn't be easier. Start a blend, specify how many pounds per acre of each element that you'd like to apply, and then specify which products you want to use in the blend. That's it and you're ready to calculate. But what if you want to have a final blend that includes two particular products for the same element? Just choose both products and specify what percentage of each you want in the final product (i.e. 65% of N Product 1 and 35% of N Product 2). Once you're ready and press 'Calculate' you're served with a detailed report showing (fields are for dry blend with liquid fields bracketed) : Net Elements in Blend. Weight per Load. (Weight of liquid per acre). Weight of Product to Order (Volume to Order). Volumes, Costs, Etc. Legal Analysis %. In the latest update we tried to add support for as many units as possible. Should you find a unit we missed or a conversion that you suspect isn't right, please email us and we'll get it up to date.
